Random Acts of Kindness Needed Urgently

Have you ever felt like you needed to do more? Have you ever looked around and thought "Surely life can't be this self-centered"? We are living in a time where people are too busy to focus on the next. We run on the hamster-wheel of life constantly racing towards self-preserving goals. We act like struggle and pain that occurs around us is too dirty to get mixed up in, as if it will deter us from the "ideal" white picket fence, double story house in the suburbs kinda life which we have mapped out for ourselves. I've been considering what it would be like to do more. More for those around you, more for those who live in lack and genuinely struggle to make it through each day. There is so much going on around us that we act oblivious to. In South Africa over 129 babies are born behind the bars of their mothers jail cells. Cells which are not conducive to the fundamental needs of children. Countless numbers of children all around the world are abandoned by moms who do not have the means to take care of these children. Almost half a million rapes occur in South Africa annually, many of which go unreported. The countless homeless people barely survive winters. The picture of the world is pretty grim when we look outside of our perfect-little-life-box. Can we help? Can we lighten the burden many people carry on a daily basis trying to break out of their current circumstance. YES WE CAN. We are able to change lives. Even one life makes a difference. A single random act of kindness may cause the change of heart in a man who has reach his end and decided to end his life. A single act of help in a families time of need may allow them to fight the next few days. You may feel too little or too busy to make a difference but your helping hands are worth more to many organisations than a single cent even could be.
